It was really lovely to share my thoughts, spread the word and inform them of the poverty situation facing so many Vietnamese. I shared Thien Hue’s story (the little boy with no arms) and also showed heaps of photos from my last trip in April.Thank you for your generous donations and for the great Q&A session after!

February 2013 - Last week I was invited to speak at two church services at St Andrews Anglican Parish. Being my family church, it was a privilege to speak to the congregation about my charity and teach others about another culture.  I received some great feedback and support on the day and the next few weeks the church will be collecting funds for my next trip.  If you have a church that would be interested in hearing my story, let me know.

October 2012 - Our fundraiser in Parnell was such a huge success and I would like to say thank you to everyone who made it possible (food helpers, ticket sales, venue hire, raffle sales). We managed to raise an incredible $4,000 at the event which is by far the largest sum to date!  120 guests doned their Sunday best to attend our High Tea. They enjoyed delectable scones, sandwiches and baked goods. We had a variety of books on sale and of course our sort-after raffle prizes. Thanks to everyone who attended!

bake sale

June 2012 - On 28 June 2012 I was a week away from leaving for Vietnam and I needed another $200 to reach my goal. My colleagues at PwC suggested we put on a bake sale for the office so we got to work finding volunteer bakers amongst the team! On the day we set to work transforming the office into a Vietnamese bakery. We decorated with heaps of Vietnamese flags and photos of the orphans I was going to help.  It was a huge success and after a few wagers we were all astounded that our coins added up to over $450!
